TOT on CFR under FRA Act-2006


Two training of Trainers (TOT) programme on CFR under FRA 2006 was held on 09th June 2019 & 2nd December, 2019 at Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra, Jhumpura, Keonjhar & Sadbhabana meeting hall involving 35 participants in each programme. The training was imparted to Sarapanchs of 22 G.Ps & President/Secretary of CFR of Jhumpura Block. Sri Bhakta Batshal Mahanty, the trainer focused on what is Forest Rights, HDLC, DLC & how they works? CFR is the weapon in the hand of Banavasis. This act gives us the ownership of Forest to the common people. The trainer elaborated & trained the trainers how to notice of Pallisabha to submission of documents to SLDC through FRA.

NRM & Community Forest Rights Programme


Two awareness programmes was organized by SADBHABANA on 29th and 30th January 2020 at Jhumpura Block involving 105 participants from different community stakeholders to discuss on village natural resource management and role of community in Forest Right Act. In this programme, the Resource person Mr. B.B. Mahanty explained about the provision under FRA Act, 2006 & amendment of FRA Act, 2012. This workshop was focused on the Rights of Banavasis & Adivasis on Forest

Celebration of international naturopathy week


To create the awareness among general public, community and student mass we organized different activities on the occasion of International Naturopathy week, a 7days programme which was organized with the joint effort of SADBHABANA, INO & Surya Foundation in different schools and community of Keonjhar district of Odisha from 12th November 2019 to 18th November 2019. We conducted programmes like Awareness Rally, Rang Bharo, Debate, KBSR Competitions, Signature Campaign, Door to door Campaign and Community Awareness Programme on Naturopathy etc. in 14 schools of Keonjhar district. Total 348 participants participated in Rang bharo Pratiyogita, 32 participants in KBSR and 150 in Debate. During school based activities, we directly sensitized 530 children & indirectly we reached more than 4500 students through our 530 Naturopathy Ambassadors. And we planned to achieve more than 1 lakhs community people during our course of intervention through these kids. During community based programme like rally & door to door awareness campaign around 5000 community people of different villages in our working areas were aware about yoga & Naturopathy. Awareness was made on - how yoga plays an important role for the human life to maintain a healthy life and Naturopathy kills the side effects. Naturopathy is Drugless Therapy without medicine treatment, Mental and physical wellness. It is also Eco friendly therapy which has no side effects

Water action month (Claim your Rights)


With the joint effort of Sadbhabana, Fansa Odisha and End Water poverty, a District level workshop relating to “Wash Rights Of Adivasis” was organised on 13th March, 2020on at Prayas Campus, Naranapur , Keonjhar. 55 participants from different community and streams such as Nss Volunteers, village youth club members, SHG leaders, NYK volunteers, NYP Volunteers, Social Activists, Journalists/Media persons, Govt. Officials were present in this programme. The programme was focused on how water is the fundamental rights of ADIVASIS ; and it is the responsibility of the Government to provide Safe Drinking water, Sanitation Facilities. Other topics discussed in the programme include Sanitation related Customs and practices, Sanitation and rights to habits, Management of sources of water for sanitation; and rules of menstrual hygiene.

Mental Health Day


The World Mental Health Day was celebrated on 17th October, 2019 by SADBHABANA in collaboration with District Social Security & Empowerment of persons with Disabilities Department at PRAYAS School, Naranapur. During this occasion a rally was held by the children with Intellectual Disabilities. During the occasion, a workshop was organized on Mental Health. In that workshop, District Social Security Officer Mr. Jayakrushna Barik & Dr. Sushanta Kumar Majhi (Psychiatrist of District Medical, Keonjhar) attended the programme as the chief Guests. In this workshop our chief guests discussed about the Mental Health of the ID children & how to take care of their Mental Health.

World Cerebral Palsy Day


In 2nd October 2019, the World Cerebral Palsy day was observed by all the staffs & inmates of Sadbhabana with different dignitaries of Keonjhar District. In the morning, the inmates of Sadbhabana & staffs visited offices office of the District Collector, PD DRDA, DSSO, DPC, DEO & BEO office etc. to create awareness through ribbon campaigning. On that day ribbons are tied by our inmates to District Collector, PD DRDA, DSSO, DPC, DEO & BEO etc.. Then our staffs explained the importance of that day to them. In the afternoon, all the inmates & staffs of sadbhabana celebrated that day by cutting cake at PRAYAS campus. Then the importance of that day was described by our staffs in front of our inmates. Lastly, cultural activities performed by our inmates in the evening. The World Cerebral Palsy Day was observed by us with great pleasure & fun. Children felt the importance of that day & enjoyed a lot.

Youth activation programme


A District level Youth Activation Programme was organized by Sadbhabana with the joint effort of Special Olympics Bharat, Odisha on 28th February, 2020 at Prayas Campus, Naranpur, Keonjhar. 52 Volunteers of NSS, NYK, NYP from 13 blocks of keonjhar participated in this programme. Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sahoo, Principal of Cerebral Palsy School and Mrs. Sushri Sangita Deo, Special educator explained them about Special Olympics, Youth activation & Young Athlete. They also informed them about the main aim & objectives of this programme. The participants practiced various game & sports to Participate in Special Olympics. The Youth Participants has taken Oath for working as the special Ambassador of this Programme. At last, a football match was held among the so called normal children & the ID children in a friendly atmosphere. In this programme the secretary of Sadbhabana Mr. Chandi Prasad Pattanaik & programme Advisor Sri Bhakta Batshal Mahanty encouraged the participants. All the staffs of Sadbhabana actively participated in the programme.

Young athlete programme


A one day Young Athlete programme was organized with the joint effort of Sadbhabana & Special Olympics Bharat, Odisha on 28th February, 2020 at Naranpur playground. Above 50 children within 2 to 10 years actively participated in different events like Running, Boccie, Football, Shot put throw etc. Both the boys & girls of different age group from different Schools of Keonjhar had taken part in that programme. The main aim of the programme was to develop the playing Skill of the differently abled children with Proper guidance & training; through which they will able to be good players in future and their Social inclusion will be possible. To mainstream the differently able children in the Society was the ultimate goal of the programme. Mr. Jayakrushna Barik, DSSO, Keonjhar was present in the occasion as chief guest. Mr. Pradipta Kumar Rath, State co-ordinator of Special Olympics Bharat, Odisha was the honourable guest, Other eminent persons who were present in the occasion were Miss Arpita Mohapatra, NSS programme officer, Mr. Paresh Chandra Dhar, from Sakshyam Odisha family; Mr. Bira Mahanta, Santosh Mahapatra, Saroj Kumar Sahoo and Mr. Bhakta Batshal Mohanty, Social Activist. On that occasion. During the occasion, SADBHABANA felicitated Bhibarani Patra & Indramani Kandi, the International Athletes.

Physiotherapy assessment and Counselling programme


Assessment and counseling camp on Physiotherapy for PWDS was organized on 2nd November 2019 at Khendra Panchayat campus, Jhumpura block of Keonjhar district. Total 85 persons attended the camp. The Programme was inaugurated by Mr. Darshan Munda, Sarapanch of Khendra Panchayat. Dr. Sradhanjali Paikaray, Physiotherapist, Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sahoo and Mrs. Sushri Sangita Deo, special educators and Mr Prasanta Kumar Khuntia, CBR coordinator of SADBHABANA were involved in physiotherapy assessment and Counselling. Our community volunteers Mrs. Seema Mahanta and Mrs. Rebati Patra are also present to facilitate the programme. Out of 85 participants, 64 persons were Assessed and Identified by our professionals of different conditions like Low Back Pain, CP, Cleft Pallet, ID, Hearing and Speech problem, Knee Pain, Hemi Pelagic (Paralysis Patient), Transgender, etc. Most of the cases are Low Back Pain, Hearing and Speech problem. Therapeutic treatment was given to the Patients of different categories as per their requirements and conditions

Physiotherapy awareness & treatment camp


A Physiotherapy awareness and treatment camp was organized by SADBHABANA on 8th September 2019 at Naranpur, Keonjhar with the joint collaboration of “Urbi Ladies Club” on the occasion of world Physiotherapy day. This programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Leelabati Panda, Secretary Urbi Ladies Club. The main aim of this camp was to create awareness and treatment of the affected persons. Total 50 participants including ladies, gents, one girls and senior citizens were present there in the awareness programme. Mr. Chandi Prasad Pattanaik, Secretary, SADBHABANA delivered welcome speech. Our Physiotherapist Dr. Sradhanjali Paikaray discussed about what is physiotherapy? Why physiotherapy is needed and to whom physiotherapy is given. She also focused on the major problems of women and also men. How physiotherapy is important in our day to day life? Without taking pain killers, injections and surgery how we can keep ourselves fit by physiotherapy, was also discussed during the session. Group exercise was taught by our physiotherapist madam for cervical spondilysis, frozen shoulder and many more. After this session free physiotherapy treatment camp was we organized for the senior citizens those are suffering from neck pain, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, wrist pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, low back pain, knee pain and ankle pain etc. The king and queen of Keonjhar - Dhanurjaya Narayan Singhdeo and Sunandini Sen Singhdeo were also present there.

Sensitization workshop on disable management


A Sensitization workshop on disable management; CBR context was organized on 16th September 2019 SADBHABANA involving 65 PRI members, Anganwadi workers, Parents of PWDS, Community Volunteers, etc., at Khendra Panchayat campus, Jhumpura block of Keonjhar district. This programme was inaugurated by Mr. Darshan Munda, the Sarapanch of Khendra block; and Mr. Subhadarshini Kar, Panchayat Executive officer. Dr. Sradhanjali Paikaray, Physiotherapist; Mr. Mahendra Kumar Sahoo and HR Mr. Dipti Prakash Maharana, special educator; and Mr. Prasanta Kumar Khuntia, CBR co-coordinator also participated in the workshop. . Both the Divyanga Sathi - Mrs. Seema Mahanta and Mrs. Rebati Sethy were also present there. The discussion was focused on What is disability, Types and causes of disabilities, What is Physiotherapy, Why Physiotherapy is needed and how Physiotherapy will helpful for PWDS and for all types of Pains and Paralysis patients. HR Mr. Dipti Prakash Maharana discussed about the rights of PWDS and Govt. Schemes for PWDS. The programme was ended after the vote of thanks by the chair.

Physiotherapy Seva Kendra for Senior Citizens


A free Physiotherapy Seva Kendra has been started functioning since 15 August 2019 at Naranpur, Keonjhar for the Senior Citizens having Back pain, Knee pin, Shoulder pain, Ankle pain, Foot pain, Spondilises, Wrist pain, Osteoarthritis etc. In the inaugural day we organized a physiotherapy camp at our Centre to diagnosis, Counselling & treatment of the most valuable group of the society, where more than 70 senior citizens were present. Since then seva Kendra is providing service to elderly people. Now 28 Senior Citizens are regularly continuing their physiotherapy treatment in the Seva Kendra.

GHARAUNDA (A shelter home for PWDs and CWSNs)


A GHARAUNDA Centre (A shelter home for PWDs and CWSNs) with 20 MRCP disabled adult persons (Divyangjans) is being managed by SADBHABANA at Raisuan, Keonjhar since 2017 with the support of NATIONAL TRUST, New Delhi. In this Centre, we provide physiotherapy, educational, speech therapy, vocational training to 20 MRCP disabled adult persons. Apart from this we are also working for the improvement of their skill for livelihood earning to make them capable to be self-sufficient earned person when return to their family

Care and Protection for Spastic Children


SADBHABANA is running a Centre - Care and Protection of Spastic children with the support of SSEPD, Department, Govt. of Odisha. There are 15 Spasticity children reside in this Centre. In this Centre, we provide Physical exercise, massage, heat and cold treatment, gait training, MST, and Speech therapy etc. in our unit. As a result, they are now able to perform their day to day activity. Apart from this we also organised Awareness Programme for disable Parents; and conducted Disable Parents Training to Mainstreaming of a child/ persons with Disability for their social inclusion, gainful Opportunity in a marginalized community and to become a contributor of society.

We are providing them different therapy and vocational training to the inmates for the rehabilitation and mainstreaming them. Initially, they were not able to do their ADL activities properly and having coordination problem, weakness, spasticity or deformity, speech problem. However, after getting different Physical exercise, massage , heat and cold treatment, gait training and MST, Speech therapy etc. in the unit, now they are able to do day to day activity. Apart from this, they developed their personal, academic and social skill area; occupational and recreational activity. PRAYAS - A Special School for Mentally Retarded & Cerebral palsy Children


Sadbhabana is running an institutional based rehabilitation center - PRAYAS for children with mentally retarded The Centre is functioning at Naranapur, Keonjhar since 2008. The main purpose the programme is to make children independent and a self-reliant citizen of the country and it also takes the key role in their lives to make them stand on their own feet. This is the only institution of its kind in the district. 65 mentally retarded children are residing in its campus. There are 6 special teachers and 8 caregivers are engaged for the overall development of these children. Regular health checks up and different therapies like Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and occupational Therapy provided to the children. Marshal Art, yoga and song teacher are also engaged for the recreational activities of the children. Besides education, the Centre provides them daily living skills, life skills, co-curricular. Every year annual sport is conducted by the school to create sporting sprits in their minds. During summer vacation our special teachers visit the homes of the children and counsel the parents and train them how to take special care of the children and how to practice activities of daily living skills under home based disability management programme. A parents counseling center runs inside the school campus regularly for better result. Vocational products like phenyl, candles and agarbatti made by our children are exhibited every year at Palishree Mela at Bali yatra Cuttack and also at Kendhujhar Mahochhaba, Kali padia, Keonjhar. This year on the occasion of International day for the disabled - our students participated in the district level competitions and became the champion. They received Shield from Hon’ble Collector, Asish Thakre. The children and staffs too observe different national and international days and also enjoy various social festivals celebrated in the Centre.

WORLD AUTISM DAY


District level World Autism Day was observed jointly by Sadbhabana, District Social Welfare Wing & Sarbasikshya Abhijan on 2nd April 2015 inside Prayas School for Mentally Retarded & Cerebral Palsy at Naranpur, Keonjhar. The District Social Officer, Vijayalaxmi Raiguru, District Project Co- ordinator, SSA, Marie Antonia Ba, Chairman, CWC, Sibanarayan Pradhan, District Child Protection Committee Legal Officer, Anju Ram, Mr. Pramod Kumar Das, ADSWO (DW), Bhakta Batsal Mohanty & Pradip Maharana, District Co-ordinator,FES attended the programme as guests. IED Co-ordinator of SSA, Mr.Pitabasa Sahoo described about what is Autism, and their various Problem behaviours, role of parents and about their rehabilitation. More than 80 autistic persons, parents, BRTs, IEVs and Anganwadi Workers presented their views about this particular disability. Everyone present there gave the opinion that Govt. must take initiative to provide them disability Certificates and other such facilities for their bene.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR DISABLE SHG LEADERS (WOMEN) ON EMBROIDERY & ZARI WORK


A Skill Development Training Programme on Embroidery & Zari Work for Disable SHG (Women) Leaders Organised by Sadbhabana was held from 26th May to 12th June, 2015 at Prayas Campus, Naranpur, Keonjhar. 30 nos. Of Disable women leaders from different places of keonjhar i.e. Gobardhan, Maidankel, Kaunrikala, Podadiha, old town, Sankiri, Deobandha, Dimbo, Kholapa, Guhalchatua, Sahadapur & Raikala Participated in the programme. On the opening day of the programme on 26th May 2015 the guests Mr. Pramod Kumar Das, ADSWO Keonjhar & Mrs. Shakuntala Mohanta, Secy. Vidya Jyoti Foundation lighting the candle inaugurated the programme in the presence of all the participants. The main aim of arranging such a programme was skill development of the disable women and to facilitate them to strengthen their livelihood through income generation and there by bringing them to the mainstream of the society. They will get the scope to bring their hidden talents and potential to limelight.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR PERSONS WITH LOCOMOTORS DISABILITY (SC & ST)


Vocational training on Phenyl, Candle, Agarbatti and Carry Bags making for persons with locomotors disability (SC & St) was conducted for a month by SVNIRTAR, Olatpur, and Cuttack from 10th Aug. To 10th Sept. 2015 at Sadbhabana Training hall, Naranpur and Raikala, Keonjhar in Collaboration with SADBHABANA, Keonjhar. In the opening ceremony Pramod Ku. Das ADSWO (DW), Keonjhar, Sarapancha, Raikala Gp and Chandi Prasad Pattanaik, Secy. Sadbhabana inaugurated the programme in the presence of all the participating members. The main aim of conducting such a programme was to encourage them to strengthen their livelihood through income generation and bringing them to the mainstream of the society as earning members of their respective families. In the first part of the programme both the trainers Mr. Kailash Mohanta & Mahendra Sahoo introduced different raw materials necessary to 30 nos.of participants for making phenyl, candle, agarbatti and 25 nos. of participants for preparing carry bags.

CAPACITY TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR DISABLE SHG LEADERS AND PWDS


A Capacity Training programme for disable SHG Leaders was organized jointly by SADBHABANA and SAMDASHANI FOUNDATION, New Delhi at Prayas Campus, Naranpur Keonjhar on 25th and 26th September 2015. Mr. Pramod Kumar Das, ADSWO, Keonjhar inaugurated the programme. Another such programme was again organized by SADBHABANA at Prayas Campus, Naranpur on 22nd and 23rd march 2016. Mr. Jaygobinda Barik, DSSO, keonjhar Inaugurated the Programme. Mr. Bhakta Batshal Mohanty joined in both programes as Trainer.60 nos of participants from different self help groups of sadar block attended the programme as trainees. The main goal of conducting the programmes was to build and strengthen the capacity of persons with Disabilities by means Self analysis through developing communication skills by sharing Knowledge regarding leadership quality, role of a leader, need of formation of SHGs. They were also taught how to prepare group/individual business plan, how to strengthen SHGs for self- reliance.

PALLI SABHA ON FOREST RIGHT ACT


Three nos. of Palli Sabha on Forest Right Act were organised at different G.P.S by SADBHABANA on different dates. The first one was conducted at Rangamatia Village of Binida G.P on 7th October, 2015. The Sarapancha Gayatri Naik and Panchayat Executive officer of Binida Gram Panchayat were present there as guests. The second and third palli sabha were held at Dandiposi and Dhobapitana villages of Toranipokhari G.P respectively on 23rd & 24th Dec. 2015. The Sarapanch of Toranipokhari G.P. Mr. Rangadhara Naik and Mr. Chandi Prasad Pattanaik, Secy. SADBHABANA attended as guests in both the meetings. The main aim of arranging these meetings was to consider & protect the demands of community forest rights and community rights on forest resources prepared by the committee on forest rights. Besides this demarcation of forest boundaries adjacent to the villages and the villagers living near by the forests will get the right to use various forest products for their livelihood was also discussed.

SUNELI FEST


On the occasion of International day for the Persons with Disabilities On 3rd December a two days inclusive creative Festival named Suneli Fest-2015 Organized by Sadbhabana Was held for the second time on 2nd and 3rd December in Keonjhar District of Odisha. More than 200 Disable and Non- Disable Students of 15 Schools from Keonjhar and 20 nos. Of DSHGs from different parts of Keonjhar Participated in the festival. The main Objective of arranging the Programme was to remove the gap between disable and non disable and to build a healthy inclusive society and to create an opportunity for equal participation in a common platform so as to bring their hidden talents to limelight. An awareness rally on Disable rights and equal participation was inaugurated by Mr Pramod kumar Das, ADSWO (DW), Keonjhar. Then in the opening ceremony a meeting presided by the eminent social activist Mr. Bhakta Batshal Mohanty was arranged at Prayas campus. Mr. Purna Chandra Mishra, Sub-collector, Keonjhar,

SUNELI FEST-2


In the evening Session Plantation was done inside prayas campus by renowned guests Bharat Gourab Mr. Dillip Mishra,Mr. Manas Sahoo International sand animator, Mr. Badri Narayan Mishra eminent writer and Lyricist of odisha. Then District Education Officer distributed beautiful dresses among the children of Prayas. Other guests Present and encouraged us on the stage in the session were Mr. Sangram Keshri Swain, ADM keonjhar,Mrs. Sabita Behera,President Rotary club, Mr. Ganeswar sahoo, Educationist, Mr.Duryodhan Sahoo ,Keonjhar. Four Local Persons with Disabilities Mr.Amiya samantara, Lecture in Economics, SMR College, Belda, Mr. Narendra rathore, Businessman, Jagannath Mahanta of Kaunrikala and Miss Sulochana sahoo of Sahadapur were also honored for their achievements in different sectors. Sri kamal lochan Naik of Prayas school was awarded as the best Disable student for all round performance by Gujurati Samaj, Keonjhar. YOUNG ATHLETES PROGRAMME


A new programme called “Young Athletes Programme” with an Innovative idea was observed at Prayas Campus, Naranpur on 8th march, 2016 by the joint effort of Special Olympics Bharat, Odisha and SADBHABANA with the aim of attracting and involving both Disable and Non- disable children towards sports and games. Mr. Prakash ku Ratha, Area Director, SOBO and Arpita Mishra, National coach attended the programme as guests. The local Anganwadi workers and SHG leaders were being provided with the necessary training to deal with these children in their centres by the National Coach,Miss Arpita Mishra. The Different Skills and techniques of tempting the kids towards various games were taught to them so as to encourage their active participation in sports and to create competitive mentality in them unlike a play school model.

AGRICULTURE TRAINING PROGRAMME & INPUTS DISTRIBUTION


Agricultural inputs distribution programme and agriculture training under TSP by AICRP on Weed Control OUAT, BBSR and facilitated by SADBHABANA Keonjhar was held at Sarasposhi, Laxmiposhi & Danguaposhi Villages of Ghatagaon block, Keonjhar on 18th & 19th march, 2016. The eminent scientists of OUAT, Dr. Manamohan Mishra, Dr. Rabindra Dash and Mr. Chandi Prasda Pattanaik, Secy. Sadbhabana distributed Agricultural equipments i.e., sprayer, weeder and etc. to each farmers groups formed earlier by SADBHABANA, KJR and wished their progress and bright future ahead. On the next day agricultural training programme was organised by sadbhabana at Sarasposhi, Laxmiposhi and Danguaposhi. The members of all the groups actively participated in the training. Both the scientists of OUAT, BBSR made a valuable discussion among the farmers about various problems they face at the time of cultivation through participatory approach. They tried their best to sort out different problems of the farmers by givin.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN`S DAY


International Women`s day was observed in the premises of PRAYAS school at Naranpur,Keonjhar on 8th March,2016 and that was jointly organized by SADBHABANA & Directorate of Field Publicity, Govt. Of India, Keonjhar. District Field Publicity Officer Mr. Jeeban Kumar Samantasinghar and DSSO Keonjhar Mr.Jayagobinda Barik attended the programme as guests. Above 90 Participants of shg leaders from different areas of keonjhar district joined the programme. The chief motto of the programme was to develop, empower and encourage participation and competitive mentality among the poor and distressed women. On the occasion different competitions were arranged among themselves such as Sankha blowing, Ballon blowing, Hulhuli and sack race etc. Lastly the successful winners of the competitions were awarded attractive prizes with certificates.
